Apokalupsos: Palermo Exhibition Reopens Philippe Berson's Vucciria Studio

exhibition · 2026-06-05

One year following the passing of Philippe Berson (Paris, 1963-2025), the exhibition 'Apokalupsos – pour Philippe Berson' is taking place in Palermo, displaying his sculptures, paintings, and stage costumes created over a span of twenty-five years. Curated by Simone Mannino and presented by Atelier Nostra Signora, the exhibition emphasizes Berson's significant influence on the punk art movement in Palermo. After relocating to Palermo in the late 1990s, he produced innovative assemblages from diverse materials. In 2011, Berson co-founded Atelier Nostra Signora and later established LEMOSCHE in 2013, where he converted an old oven into his last studio. The exhibition, organized into thematic chapters, includes works from various artists and writers and will be open until September 16, 2026, with backing from Gibellina Capitale dell'Arte Contemporanea 2026 and Museo RISO.
