Antonio Guccione's "Bright Lights" Brings 1980s New York to Galleria Vik Milano

Antonio Guccione, a photographer born in Alia in the province of Palermo in 1947, trained in scenography and photography before building an international career that took him between Milan, Paris, London and New York. From an archive of more than 110,000 analog negatives, a concise selection forms "Bright Lights," a solo exhibition presented by Galleria Vik Milano in the spaces of VikPellico8 at Via Silvio Pellico 8a. The show runs from 14 September to 14 October 2026, with an opening on Monday 14 September at 6:30 pm. Curated by Alessandro Riva, it opens on the eve of Milano Fashion Week (22–28 September), a placement that is not accidental for work examining the relationship between fashion photography and collective visual memory. The core of the project is New York in the 1980s and 1990s, a period when fashion, art, cinema and music still shared the same scene. The exhibition draws on Guccione's vast analog archive to revisit an era when fashion imagery was still analog light.
