Antonio Barbieri on 'La materia della vita' at Palazzo Pretorio, Certaldo
Antonio Barbieri, hailing from Rho and born in 1985, shares insights about his upcoming solo exhibition titled 'La materia della vita'. This event, curated by Davide Sarchioni, will take place at Palazzo Pretorio in Certaldo Alto from 26 September 2026 to 8 February 2027. Francesca Parri of CertaldoArte invited him, with support from NM Contemporary. Barbieri characterizes his approach as a flexible process that combines 3D printing, programming, and hands-on work. He sees himself as a 'sperimentatore critico', regarding generative AI as a tool. Featured pieces include 'Capsa', a phylogenetic tree, and 'Protogenia robotica', a sculpture equipped with sensors. His fascination with biology originates from childhood, and he draws inspiration from Ernst Haeckel, connecting the exhibition's theme to the Palazzo's heritage.
