Anselm Kiefer's First Barcelona Solo Show Opens at Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera

exhibition · 2026-10-22

Anselm Kiefer's first solo exhibition in Barcelona has opened at Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera, showcasing over seventy works primarily from Hans Grothe's private collection. Curated by Walter Smerling, the exhibit features the Opus Magnum vitrines, displayed in Spain for the first time. The exhibition, which runs until January 24, 2027, is inspired by seventeenth-century thinker Robert Fludd's concepts of microcosm and macrocosm. Additionally, Frauen der Antike [Mujeres de la Antigüedad] is featured in the Passeig de Gràcia courtyard. Concerts are planned at Palau de la Música Catalana on October 22 and Gran Teatre del Liceu on December 2.
