Anonymous Pennsylvania collector's 50-year edged weapons collection fetches over $900,000 at Morphy's auction

Morphy's Fine Knives: A Quality Lifetime Collection auction on February 25, 2026 realized more than $900,000 from 956 lots of edged weapons, armor and militaria. All items came from a single anonymous collector based in Pennsylvania who amassed the collection over five decades. The collector, now approaching retirement, decided to part with his holdings after regularly attending knife and gun shows, antique shows, flea markets and auctions across the United States. A pre-1915 Case 6346 three-back spring whittler salesman's sample with old Rogers bone handles sold for $9,225, more than doubling its $4,000 high estimate. The collector described the sale as "a blessing" that would allow others to enjoy "these wonderful pieces of history." The auction featured exclusively items from this one owner's lifetime collection.
