Anna Maria Maiolino's ANNA—And the Infinite Line at Hauser & Wirth New York
From September 10 to October 31, 2026, Hauser & Wirth's New York gallery will showcase ANNA—And the Infinite Line, highlighting the artistic journey of Anna Maria Maiolino. This exhibition includes a variety of mediums such as prints, drawings, photography, and sculpture, and aligns with a documentary from The Forgotten Her Story. Maiolino, born in Scalea, Italy, in 1942, relocated to Brazil through Venezuela, delving into themes of identity and self-representation. She was associated with New Figuration and took part in the 1967 New Brazilian Objectivity exhibition. Key pieces include the woodcut Anna (1967) and the Fotopoemação series, while her later works, like the Híbridos series and Na Noite – No Escuro, highlight her artistic continuity.
