Angelo Cricchi's Kimono Tales at Musei di San Salvatore in Lauro, Rome
On display at the Musei di San Salvatore in Lauro, Rome, until October 16, is Angelo Cricchi's Kimono Tales. This initiative commenced in 2015 when a woman referred to as K left kimonos in Cricchi's studio. In 2016, he began capturing images of women adorned in these garments. The exhibition, which features photography, sound installations, ceramics, and a ring with a marble portrait of K by Antonietta De Marchi, is curated alongside Patrizia Boglione and Francesca Briganti. Collaborators include Sonia Mascioli and Massimiliano Ionta. Born in Rome in 1961, Cricchi explores themes such as violence against women. The project's first phase concluded with a Paris exhibition in 2018, while the second phase commenced last year. K is aware of the project but chooses to remain silent.
