Andrew Heard's post-pop paintings exhibited in UK for first time in 30 years
For the first time in over three decades, Andrew Heard's post-pop artworks are showcased in the UK at the Amanda Wilkinson Gallery in London, running from 28 May to 8 August. Heard, who was born in Hertford and passed away from AIDS in 1993 at the age of 34, gained recognition during the 1980s and early 1990s. The exhibition, titled 'I Want To Be Good,' includes six significant pieces curated by Dominic Johnson, blending social critique with nostalgic visuals. Among the highlighted works are 'You Are Wretched You Are Scum' (1987) and Heard's last piece, 'I Want To Be Good.' Additionally, a talk at Tate Modern on 12 June will explore Heard's enduring impact.
