Andrea da Montefeltro's 'Arcana' Exhibition at Castello dei Conti Oliva

exhibition · 2026-08-26

From July 10 to September 30, 2026, the Complesso Monumentale del Castello dei Conti Oliva in Piandimeleto, Pesaro and Urbino province, will host 'Arcana – Il Leone del Nuovo Orizzonte', a national exhibition by sculptor Andrea da Montefeltro, who has been awarded the Premio Mondiale della Pace nell'Arte. The artistic direction is by Annalisa Di Maria, an international Leonardo da Vinci scholar and expert in Renaissance aesthetics. The project is realized by the Comune di Piandimeleto with the patronage of the Regione Marche, the Presidency of the Council of the Regione Marche, the National Committee for the Celebrations of the 800th Anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, the Club per l'UNESCO di Firenze, the Provincia di Pesaro e Urbino, and BCC Metauro. At the heart of the exhibition is a precise posture, almost a declaration of method: the mountain is not a conquest but an interlocutor. The sculptor works the stone of Montefeltro—material millions of years old—not to dominate it but to engage in dialogue. The exhibition emphasizes the living stone of Montefeltro, a material with deep geological history, and the artist's approach reflects a philosophical and aesthetic stance rooted in Renaissance thought. The show is a national event, highlighting the cultural heritage of the region and the artist's international recognition.
