Ancient Egyptian Treasures Unveiled in Amiens: A Year-Long Exhibition

The Musée de Picardie in Amiens, renovated in 2020, is presenting a new exhibition of its Egyptian collections, offering a preview of a larger archaeological reinstallation planned for 2028. Since 2021, scientific teams have reorganized, reattributed, and restored numerous objects, some never before displayed. The Louvre has loaned pieces to complement the nine-section display. The exhibition features 64 objects, a tenth of the Picard collection, including two restored funerary ensembles shown under a starry ceiling evoking a tomb, canopic jars, funerary servants, and gold fragments bearing the name of Tutankhamun, assembled around a facsimile reconstruction. Additionally, the museum presents 'L'Égypte éternelle,' a series of poetic Polaroid photographs by Flore, a Franco-Spanish artist who grew up in Egypt, depicting sites along the Nile. The exhibition runs from April 11, 2026, to June 20, 2027, at the Musée de Picardie, 2 Rue Puvis de Chavannes, 80000 Amiens. It was featured in Beaux Arts Magazine's double summer special issue (July 2026).
