Amma Omenaa Mensah Opens Phenomenaa Gallery in Warsaw

Amma Omenaa Mensah, a Polish-Ghanaian philanthropist and cultural entrepreneur, has launched Phenomenaa Gallery in Warsaw, focusing on African and non-European art. Mensah, who has visited over 75 countries, aims to add 10 new non-European destinations annually. Her travels directly inform her gallery and charitable work, leading to discoveries like Botswana artists Boi and Cebulo, Bulgarian artist Nikyoto, and Peruvian textile artist Christy Arias. Ghana, her second homeland, holds special significance; she acquired works from Kwaku Yaro, later gifting one to Barack Obama. Mensah emphasizes purpose-driven travel over luxury, citing experiences in the Faroe Islands and Rwanda. She appreciates historic hotels like Adare Manor in Ireland and Xigera Safari Lodge in Botswana. Her packing style is versatile, and she uses a mix of commercial and private aviation, favoring Qatar Airways, Emirates, and LOT Polish Airlines.
