Amit Hadar's KAN Series Presents Tactile Objects at Milan Design Week 2026

Designer Amit Hadar presents the KAN series, three handheld objects exploring tactile interaction and bodily awareness through material contrast. The collection, shown at Isola Design District during Milan Design Week 2026, combines aluminum and semi-transparent acrylic to create distinct sensory experiences. Each piece is palm-sized, designed for simple actions like holding, rotating, or resting. The project structures interaction around three sensory conditions: cooling, movement, and weight, corresponding to awakening, refocusing, and grounding responses. Minimal geometric forms with subtle neon accents guide use without imposing fixed functions. The objects emphasize tactile perception over prescribed utility, framing everyday gestures as means for physical re-engagement. Material selection plays a central role, with aluminum providing cold density and acrylic contributing visual permeability and reduced mass. This approach to object design prioritizes direct contact and material awareness, creating a sequence of use that unfolds through physical interaction rather than functional instruction.
