Álvaro Diego Gómez’s 50-Year Textile and Sculpture Survey Opens at Museo de Artes Visuales
From July 16 to August 22, 'Trama Espacial', a retrospective showcasing the work of Colombian artist Álvaro Diego Gómez (b. 1956), will be on display at the Museo de Artes Visuales and Biblioteca de la Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Bogotá. Curated by Jaime Cerón and Elías Doria, the exhibition spans five decades of Gómez’s contributions to textile art, sculpture, and installation, drawing inspiration from both pre-Columbian quipus and contemporary technologies. Notable works include 'Aéreo – Cascada' (1986) and 'Cascada' (2007), part of Banco de la República’s collection. Additionally, a related exhibition titled 'Revelaciones: Álvaro Gómez & Gerd Leufert' will debut on September 17 at Galería Fernández Mosseri – SN.
