Alessandro Scandurra's three installations for Milan Design Week 2026 explore design beyond objects

At Milan Design Week 2026, Italian architect Alessandro Scandurra will unveil three installations that emphasize human connection and the evolution of materials. From April 20 to 30, 2026, Mater, backed by Holcim Italia, will be showcased at the University of Milan, featuring a 16-meter circular mound of rubble inspired by Scandurra's experiences in Ukraine and Lebanon. From April 20 to 26, 2026, Corpo will be located in the Isola Design District, utilizing nlcomp's RComposite laminate to create a seamless surface that links the ground to a two-meter-high platform. On April 21, 2026, at 4 PM, Build Un-build will take place at Via Santa Cecilia 6, featuring a live performance by Raffaele Salvoldi with 200 modular Fontaines Oak elements. Each installation emphasizes movement and interpersonal relationships rather than fixed structures.
