Aleph Geddis Crafts Retrofuturistic Wooden Sculptures from Multiple Homes, Plans Burning Man Installation

Aleph Geddis creates hand-carved wooden sculptures that balance abstraction and figuration, described as spindly, playful, and vaguely alien. The artist splits his time between Japan, Bali, and Orcas Island in Washington, a lifestyle he finds generative for his practice. His recent series, 'Littles,' draws inspiration from children's imaginative play with toys, aiming for a personal, secretive, and talismanic quality. Scale remains a central fascination, with Geddis also developing larger, site-responsive works. He is currently preparing a large-scale, walk-through installation for the Burning Man festival in Nevada's Black Rock Desert, envisioning the forms interacting with the vast desert landscape.
