Aldrich Museum Launches Inaugural Connecticut Artists Survey
The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, located in Ridgefield, Connecticut, has launched its inaugural decennial exhibition titled "The Aldrich Decennial: I am what is around me," showcasing the work of 40 artists from Connecticut. Curated by Amy Smith-Stewart, this exhibition will be on display for six months. To understand the impact of geopolitical events on artists over the last ten years, Smith-Stewart explored 100 studios. Featured pieces include Enrique Figueredo's "Una enfermedad que solamente el oro puede curar" (2026), Kristy Hughes's "Portal: Hope as Practice" (2025), and Dan Gunn's "Middle Scenery (after the Ride)" (2026). Grace O'Connor, who passed away in 2026, created "Among Strange Silences" (2025) using her mouth due to ALS, while immigrant artists like Faustin Adeniran and Arghavan Khosravi explore themes of identity and diaspora.
