Albin de la Simone Brings Autobiographical Stage Show «Mes battements» to Théâtre du Petit Saint-Martin

other · 2026-09-22

Singer-songwriter, musician and illustrator Albin de la Simone performs his solo stage piece Mes Battements at the Théâtre du Petit Saint-Martin in Paris through 23 October 2026. The show draws on his autobiography of the same name, published by Actes Sud, and blends songs, spoken narrative and projected drawings. Alone on stage, de la Simone acts as a one-man band, moving between musical numbers and stories that trace his life as a child, a man, a lover and an artist. Built from intimate memories that shift between humour and heartbreak, the performance sits somewhere between a concert and an illustrated memoir, offering what the production describes as a sensitive dive into a teeming imagination and an emotionally rich life. De la Simone was a guest of Nathalie Amar on RFI. The broadcast also featured a bookshop segment in which Maryline Noël of La librairie le Comptoir in Santiago, Chile, presented Marion Brunet's latest novel Ne cherche pas le chaos, set in Chile, and a report by Solène Gardré on «Histoires de crevettes», a show by composer Arthur Sauer and the Dutch company Hotel Modern, which specialises in object theatre. The day's playlist comprised three tracks by Albin de la Simone: Les 100 prochaines années, Pourquoi on pleure and Petit petit moi.
