AIM Architecture designs warehouse-inspired HARMAY flagship store in Beijing's Hopson Mall
AIM Architecture has completed a new flagship store for beauty brand HARMAY in Beijing's Hopson Mall, drawing inspiration from warehouse aesthetics and art handling practices. The two-story retail space features metal stairs resting atop cargo boxes that serve dual functions as structural elements and product displays. This design approach merges circulation, inventory storage, and merchandise presentation into a unified system. The Shanghai-based international practice, which maintains additional offices in Antwerp and Chicago, previously collaborated with HARMAY on stores in Shanghai's Hongqiao airport, Chengdu, and Wuhan. The Beijing location represents their latest exploration of experiential retail design that moves beyond transactional shopping experiences. The architectural firm's warehouse-inspired concept transforms conventional retail environments through industrial materials and multifunctional elements.
