Agata Dąbkowska: From Veterinary Medicine to Watercolor

Polish watercolor artist Agata Dąbkowska, based in a small lakeside town, transforms familiar flowers into vibrant studies of beauty and emotion. After studying veterinary medicine and suffering from depression and burnout, she discovered watercolor through an online tutorial during a sleepless night. She now paints almost daily, focusing on botanical subjects with watercolor, gouache, colored pencils, and oil pastels. Her work blends realism with expressive color choices, often isolating blooms against white backgrounds. She draws inspiration from Impressionism, Expressionism, and contemporary artists Louise de Masi, Anna Bucciarelli, and Billy Showell. A notable piece is an autumn watercolor of a chestnut leaf, capturing the season's essence. Dąbkowska aims to restore lost visual richness and plans to share knowledge through educational content.
