AGA STUDIO Unveils Kenitra Sociocultural Center for Moroccan Diaspora in 2024

The Centro Sociocultural de Kenitra, designed by AGA STUDIO, was completed in 2024 on a six-hectare landscaped site in Kenitra, Morocco. The project was driven by the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad, aiming to create a space for cultural connection, transmission, and exchange for younger generations of the Moroccan diaspora. Spanning 3,200 m², the center offers an immersive architectural and landscape experience where contemporary design, tradition, and sustainability coexist. The design team includes principal architects Ismail Guedira and Rita Alaoui, with Salma Benmbarek on the design team. Premier Art Paysage handled landscape architecture, AZ Project oversaw interior design, and Afatar Constructions served as general contractor. Suppliers for the project include Aluminium du Maroc, LUXIO LIGHTING, Tamesna Vert, and Vitra. Photographs were taken by Alessio Mei. The project falls under mixed-use architecture, community center, and cultural center categories. Curated by Miwa Negoro, the center embodies an ambitious vision to serve as more than just accommodation, providing a place for cultural immersion and exchange.
