Afroblue Exhibition Explores Blue in African Contemporary Art at Fondation Blachère

The Fondation Blachère in Bonnieux presents "Afroblue," an exhibition examining the use of blue in contemporary art from Africa and its diasporas. Running until September 19, 2026, the show features works by 36 artists who have participated in the foundation's residency program over 23 years. The residency is housed in the village's former train station, now a studio where artists develop new forms through cross-cultural dialogue. Co-curator Joanna Danimbe, foundation director Christine Blachère, and artists Clay and Arnold Fokam discussed the exhibition on RFI with host Nathalie Amar. The exhibition includes a playlist featuring tracks like "Afro Blue" by Robert Glasper and Erykah Badu, "Colors" by Black Pumas, and "Afro Blue" by Momo Wandel Soumah.
