Adelaide Fringe receives $200,000 Maitri Grant for India cultural exchange

The Australian Government’s Maitri Grant Program, backed by the Centre for Australia-India Relations, has granted $200,000 to Adelaide Fringe. This funding will support a cultural exchange over two years, specifically in 2027 and 2028, in collaboration with Kommune, the organizers of Spoken Fest. Named Spoken Without Borders, the initiative aims to link Adelaide Fringe with Spoken Fest through various forms of storytelling, poetry, and performance, fostering new opportunities for artists, producers, and programmers from both nations. This announcement comes in the wake of the Third Australia–India Annual Summit Joint Statement released by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, which highlighted the importance of connections between people.
