Adega do Ataíde Winery by Luís Loureiro Achieves LEED v4 Gold

In the Douro Superior region of Portugal, the Quinta do Ataíde Winery has been completed, designed by Luís Loureiro Arquiteto. The 2,700 m² facility is situated within one of the largest organically certified vineyard areas in northern Portugal. Developed for Symington Family Estates, the winery targets LEED v4 Gold certification, integrating sustainability as a core design principle. The project team includes lead architect Luís Loureiro, design team Vitor Pinho and Luís Alves Ferreira, technical team Marco Esteves, project management Hugo Azevedo, and offices Basilar Studio. Landscape architecture was handled by Marta Cudell, with engineering by Sopsec (civil), Niluft Engenharia Lda (mechanical), Uimake (services), and Edifícios Saudáveis (environmental sustainability). General contractor was Costeira - Engenharia e Construção S. A. The winery, completed in 2023, represents a contemporary architectural response to a sensitive cultural landscape.
