Abu Dhabi Launches Livex Forum, Aims to Become World's Most Liveable City by 2040

The inaugural Livex liveability forum took place in Abu Dhabi, where Mohammed Ali al Shorafa, chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), expressed the emirate's goal of becoming the most liveable city worldwide. This three-day gathering brought together urban planners, architects, property developers, celebrities, and athletes to explore ways to create attractive living environments. In a conversation with Monocle Radio, Al Shorafa shared that Abu Dhabi evaluates each district using 120 data sets focused on quality over quantity, assessing amenities like clinics and parks. He emphasized community feedback through surveys and AI, stating that international liveability rankings are less relevant. Al Shorafa highlighted the importance of values such as family and health in fostering happiness and hinted at future cultural developments, including Disneyland and the Sphere, with plans extending to 2040. Livex is set to expand globally next year, as directed by Al Shorafa.
