Abril Zepeda Debuts Outdoor Cord Seating for Nicaraguan Brand Masaya

architecture-design · 2026-10-07

Designer Abril Zepeda has created two unique outdoor chairs for the Nicaraguan brand Masaya, both of which are handmade locally. The chairs, called the Arenal Outdoor Rocking Chair and the Masaya Outdoor Lounge Chair, boast solid teak frames certified by the FSC, and come in either sealed or unfinished styles. They also feature handwoven cord seats, crafted from weather-resistant, vibrant cord using traditional techniques. Zepeda’s design approach focuses on a comprehensive view of living spaces, aiming to enhance comfort. These chairs are currently featured on Dezeen Showroom, a platform where brands can launch products. For questions, reach out to emilia@masayaco.com or showroom@dezeen.com.
