Abandoned Austin Warehouse Transformed into Creative Hub by A Parallel Architecture
In the Cesar Chavez area of East Austin, a deserted auto parts warehouse has been transformed into ECC Creative, a 3,700-square-foot hub for commerce and creativity. Architects Eric Barth and Ryan Burke from A Parallel Architecture spearheaded the initiative, with contributions from design team member Aaron Manns. Finished in 2023, the renovation emphasizes sustainability and cultural heritage, revitalizing the neglected building into a space for community engagement and artistic expression. The transformation is captured in photographs by Chase Daniel, showcasing a prime example of adaptive reuse in commercial architecture.
