ÀBAG Studio transforms Barcelona Eixample apartment with industrial aesthetic and natural light
ÀBAG Studio has completed a renovation of an apartment in Barcelona's Eixample district, blending industrial aesthetics with contemporary design and natural light. The project preserves original features such as Catalan vaults, exposed ceilings, and solid walnut arched carpentry while introducing a nearly monochromatic palette of travertine, green onyx, microcement, and walnut wood. The day area integrates kitchen, dining, and living room into a fluid space with a sculptural kitchen clad in textured wood panels. A suspended fireplace serves as a focal point. The private area includes a master suite with a freestanding bathtub framed by an arch, plus a wellness area with sauna and hammam. Bathrooms are clad in green onyx with copper fixtures. A terrace features a contemporary reinterpretation of Nolla mosaic. The owners, Adam and Julia, an international couple who moved from London and New York to Barcelona, sought an open, welcoming home for entertaining. Photographs by Eugeni Pons.
