A.W.A.K.E. Mode Spring 2027 Ready-to-Wear: Natalia Alaverdian's 1970s Rock-Inspired Collection in Paris

other · 2026-10-04

Natalia Alaverdian presented her Spring 2027 ready-to-wear collection for A.W.A.K.E. Mode in Paris this week. The show came nearly two years after she sold a majority stake in the brand to an outside investor in summer 2025. Alaverdian described the collection as 'a little bit ’70s, a little bit rock-bandy,' a mood reflected in denim flares in medium and light washes, some studded with silver rivets. House signatures included disc skirts, shown in tie-over and neon brights, and a negative-space version on wide, twisted 'tagliatelle' panels. Fringe appeared throughout—knotted and otherwise—on sailor tops, dresses, and asymmetrical blouses. Classic design tricks such as turning jeans back to front and transforming shirt cuffs into ankle hems on harem pants were joined by mashups, including a look combining Prince of Wales check, leopard, and knotted fringe, which Alaverdian called 'aliens wearing vintage.' Macramé and theatrical fringed pieces also featured. The lineup balanced familiar and playful elements with oversized proportions. In a self-referential moment, Alaverdian appeared on the runway playing guitar. The collection underscored the brand's independent spirit, which Alaverdian said she built 'on my knees' over 13 years.
