A Letter Makes the Familiar Feel Fresh at London Fashion Week

exhibition · 2026-09-20

During London Fashion Week, A Letter, the label founded by Freddy Coomes and Matt Empringham, unveiled its Spring/Summer 2027 collection at the Rose Easton gallery. The 27-piece lineup showcased five models selected by Julia Lange. Coomes and Empringham, who previously interned at Loewe and JW Anderson, first crossed paths at Central Saint Martins. Their creative approach begins with affordable materials, leading to unique clothing. The collection reinterpreted classic British items, such as a donkey jacket and vintage chinos, enhancing comfort. Highlights included zigzag elastic, sheer dresses, and a gingham piece inspired by Linda McCartney. The presentation focused on minimalism, featuring clean, refreshing designs. Since 2025, Dover Street Market has carried the brand.
