8 Summer Art Exhibitions: Calder, Kahlo, Henrot, Adams, Mueck, Van Noten, Juszkiewicz, Ortega
Galerie Magazine highlights eight summer art exhibitions worldwide. In Paris, Fondation Louis Vuitton presents 'Calder. ICA/Boston presents Derrick Adams's 'View Master,' a 25-year survey with a new facade installation, through September 7. Mori Art Museum in Tokyo showcases Ron Mueck's hyper-realistic sculptures, including 'Mass' and 'Young Couple,' through September 23. In Venice, Fondazione Dries Van Noten's inaugural exhibition 'The Only True Protest Is Beauty' at Palazzo Pisani Moretta mixes fashion and art across 20 rooms, through October 4. Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum in Madrid hosts Ewa Juszkiewicz's first museum solo show, featuring over 20 feminist reinterpretations of Neoclassical portraits, through September 6. Finally, Museu de Arte de São Paulo presents Damián Ortega's 'Matter and Energy,' his first major South American survey, including his iconic disassembled Volkswagen Beetle 'Cosmic Thing,' through September 13.
