5000 Makes London Debut at Taylor Thompson's Spring 2027 Presentation with OJAS Listening Room
The Oakland-based label 5000 showcased its inaugural Spring 2027 ready-to-wear collection in London, curated by Zakia Sewell, at Devon Turnbull's OJAS Listening Room. Attendees were welcomed in groups of 15 to enjoy Sewell's jazz-infused, ambient selection. Taylor Thompson, who has been in London since April as the first Designer-in-Residence for Paul Smith's Foundation x CFDA, described the event as "awesome," although he acknowledged that late nights can become "crazy." Notable pieces from the collection featured a black double-breasted coat, a fully canvassed design with a concealed back zipper, and a tailored houndstooth gown. Thompson's residency will enable him to return for another presentation in London next season.
