108th edition of Bevilacqua La Masa's young artists collective opens in Venice

The Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa in Venice has opened its 108th Collettiva Giovani Artisti, running until June 28, 2026, at the Sala del Camino in Giudecca. Since 1908, the foundation has annually showcased emerging artists. This edition features 37 artists under 30 from the Triveneto region, selected from 320 applications by 190 artists. A jury of curators, academics, and art historians chose 46 works. Curated by Stefano Coletto, the exhibition spans painting, sculpture, installation, video, and performance. Three purchase prizes were announced: first prize (€3,000) to Duccio Cappelletti for 'Playground', a evolving cityscape on a play mat with miniature vehicles; second prize (€2,000) to Maurizio Segato and Evelyn Roh for the 6-minute video 'Cantabile', filmed in the Netherlands at the Speelklok Museum in Utrecht, exploring automated music; third prize (€2,000) to Daniel Bresolin for 'Eterno Ardente', a ceramic tapestry deformed by fire on a wallpapered wooden board. Other notable works include Sebastiano Pallavisini's glazed ceramic exploring boar matriarchal social order, Gioele Provenzano's 'Jenga Logistics' stacking cardboard boxes to the ceiling, and Stefano Tolusso's Ford Fiesta car door with a tapestry of a crushed mouse.
