cultural-heritage · 2026-10-18

Vietnam's inaugural national pavilion at the Venice Biennale, titled 'Vietnam: arte nel flusso globale,' is situated at Ca' Faccanon. On Saturday, 17 October 2026, at 11:00, a discussion centered on femininity in Vietnamese folk art will take place, featuring artist Le Huu Hieu and assistant curator Mai Thi Xuan Huong. Admission is free but requires prior registration at bit.ly/EventoPadiglioneVietnam, subject to capacity limits. This event coincides with Vietnamese Women's Day, which has been celebrated since 1930. Attendees will have the opportunity to write messages to influential women in their lives and receive a Vietnamese craft item. The pavilion highlights traditional lacquer and Le Huu Hieu's 'Baco da seta' collection, showcasing large installations and a revival of coconut fiber weaving, under the promotion of commissioner Ma The Anh and curation by Do Tuong Linh.
