Tallinn Architecture Biennale 2026: 'How Much?' Examines the True Cost of Architecture
The eighth Tallinn Architecture Biennale, titled 'How Much?', is set to take place from 9 September to 30 November 2026 in Tallinn, Estonia, under the organization of the Estonian Centre for Architecture. Curated by Kertu Johanna Jõeste, Ra Martin Puhkan, Siim Tanel Tõnisson, Mark Aleksander Fischer, and Mira Samonig, this event examines the actual costs of construction beyond mere financial estimates. The main exhibition will be hosted at Linnahall, a Soviet-era structure requiring €2.5 million in renovations. Featured projects include 'Winkelbau 1' by baubüro in situ, 'Roma's Bedroom' by Studio TAKK, and the award-winning 'Resonance' pavilion from Aru Ma- Architects. Additional highlights are Avarrus Arkkitehdit's 'Simply Massive' and the 'Sounds Expensive' symposium, with the Vision Competition focusing on Tallinn's Old Town.
