Skydance Corporation Debuts on New York Stock Exchange After $111 Billion Paramount-Warner Merger
On Tuesday, Skydance Corporation commenced trading on the NYSE after Paramount Skydance's acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery for $111 billion, which followed nearly a year of legal and regulatory hurdles. David Ellison's vision is to establish a media powerhouse to compete with Netflix, Amazon, and Disney. The new organization carries $80 billion in net debt and aims to achieve $6 billion in savings over three years through synergies. Ynon Kreiz, co-CEO and former Mattel executive, will navigate challenging transitions. The film division is required to produce at least 30 films each year for two years and 32 films for the following three years, encompassing both blockbusters and independent projects.
