Modigliani's "Nu étendu (Lolotte)" at Art Basel Paris with Estimate Above $100 Million
Amedeo Modigliani's "Nu étendu (Lolotte)," painted in 1917, is projected to surpass $100 million at Art Basel Paris 2026, where it will be showcased at the Grand Palais alongside Pace, Di Donna, and Schrader. The artwork was acquired by dealer Léopold Zborowski in 1920 and has been held within the same family since then. Previous sales of similar Modigliani nudes reached $170.4 million at Christie's in 2015 and $157.2 million at Sotheby's in 2018. This piece, created between 1916 and 1919, highlights fundamental shapes and lines. It was part of Modigliani's sole solo exhibition at Galerie Berthe Weill in 1917, which was closed shortly after its debut. Related pieces are housed in the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and the Centre Pompidou.
