Marcello Fois Presents Campiello-Winning Novel at GAMeC
Marcello Fois presents his novel L'immensa distrazione, published by Einaudi and winner of the Premio Campiello 2026, at GAMeC in Bergamo. The book's protagonist, Ettore Manfredini, recounts his own life and the history of his Emilian family immediately after his death; the lineage's story spans the twentieth century through bonds, silences, ambitions and guilt. Weaving personal memory with collective history, the novel examines what is handed down between generations and what instead remains hidden, deliberately omitted or misunderstood. The meeting forms part of the Public Program of Pedagogia della Speranza and offers an occasion to reflect on the value of stories in building awareness: looking at the past, recognizing its legacies and its omissions can open new possibilities for relationship and for imagining the future. Advance booking is recommended via biglietteria@gamec.it.
