Italy's Culture Ministry Invests €2.6 Million in Casa Balla and Future Museo Mario Sironi
Italy's Ministero della Cultura has finalized three purchase agreements totaling over €2.6 million for Casa Balla and the future Museo Mario Sironi – Centro Studi Sironiani. These acquisitions, financed by the budgets of Pantheon and Castel Sant'Angelo, aim to restore various rooms in Casa Balla, which became state property in 2025. The initial group consists of 45 artworks and furnishings that capture the house's narrative since 1958. Additionally, a second purchase includes items from the Studiolo Rosso. For Museo Mario Sironi, thirty pieces from the Archivio Mario Sironi will establish the first permanent state collection, supplemented by over ninety works on loan. Minister Alessandro Giuli remarked, "We recompose contexts." Approval from the supervisory body is pending, and reopening dates remain unspecified.
