Italy and Oman Sign Cultural Memorandum in Rome on Museums, Archaeology and Restoration
On October 6 in Rome, a memorandum of understanding was signed by Italy’s Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli, and Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Oman's Minister of Cultural Heritage and Tourism. This agreement aims to foster cultural cooperation by focusing on the conservation, restoration, protection, and enhancement of cultural heritage through shared expertise, training, and professional exchanges. Archaeology and museology experts will be involved in joint initiatives. This event follows a meeting on January 14, 2026, in Muscat, where Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni discussed cultural collaboration. Giuli noted the longstanding friendly relations and cultural exchanges between Italy and Oman, referencing initiatives like the exhibition "Oman e Italia: Due millenni di dialogo tra civiltà."
