Italia Nostra's Red List of Endangered Cultural Heritage Goes Online as Open Platform
Italia Nostra has introduced its Lista Rossa, a public online platform aimed at highlighting Italian cultural heritage sites that are in danger, evolving from a previously internal resource. Since its inception in 2011, the platform includes an interactive map and allows users to search records by region and type, showcasing photographs and conservation statuses for 341 at-risk locations. Individuals can also contribute new reports. President Edoardo Croci highlighted the necessity of raising awareness about these assets for their protection. The list features 58 cases that have been resolved on a Green List and three that are irretrievably lost on a Black List: the former Anzani factory in Monza, the former market in Piacenza, and San Poletto church in Monfalcone. Lazio has the highest number of endangered sites at 44, followed by Campania with 41 and Piedmont with 40.
