Fine Waters: Luxury Bottled Water Market Grows as Svalbardi Bottles Fetch Up to €10,000
The exclusive market for "fine waters," which are high-end bottled waters priced from tens to thousands of euros, has seen growth in Italy and beyond, fueled by luxury hospitality and health-focused marketing. Founded in 2012 by Giacomo Giancarlo, Milan's acquedilusso.it employs a team of ten, including three water sommeliers. This luxury water trend remains specialized, primarily among Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hotels. Svalbardi water, sourced from melted icebergs in Norway, commands a price of €5,000 to €10,000 per bottle due to a production halt in 2020. Other notable examples include Fiji water (€35 to €65 for 12 bottles), Breeze (€150 per bottle), and Pure Mist ($60), reflecting a growing emphasis on fitness and hydration, particularly in the U.S.
