Ferrara Launches Digital Network of Historic Shops to Boost Cultural Tourism
Ferrara's Municipality has introduced a digital platform named Botteghe Storiche di Ferrara, aimed at connecting more than 40 historic shops listed in the city’s registry. Created by 22HBG, this initiative features a website and an Instagram channel for shopkeepers to narrate their stories. It includes video interviews and input from 'bimbi ispettori.' Each shop boasts an online profile with geolocation and recommended walking routes. Initial responses show that tour guides are starting to include these shops in their itineraries. Councilor Francesco Carità highlighted that digitalization adds significant value to these businesses. Among the notable establishments are Enoteca al Brindisi (since 1435), Antica Merceria Pesaro (1875), Casa del Guanto (1950s), and Birraria Giori (1881).
