BERLIN ROME EXPRESS Returns to Villa Massimo for Ninth Edition with Moritz von Oswald and Marylou Guerra
In late summer 2026, the ninth edition of BERLIN ROME EXPRESS took place at Villa Massimo in Rome, drawing significant crowds. Julia Draganovic served as the host, welcoming German ambassador Thomas Bagger and his spouse Anita. Curators Carsten Nicolai, known as Alva Noto, and Nazanin Noori invited electronic musicians Moritz von Oswald and Marylou Guerra to participate. Von Oswald, a resident of Berlin and recipient of the Premio Roma, will be at the Accademia Tedesca Roma until June 2027. Guerra, a French DJ also based in Berlin, is celebrated for her eclectic performances. The event featured a DJ set by Alva Noto, complemented by visuals from Krsn Brasko and Markus Heckmann. Established in 2018, BERLIN ROME EXPRESS was inspired by Kraftwerk's 1977 album.
