Abu Dhabi Art 2024 Annuncia 102 Gallerie e Nuovi Settori
Abu Dhabi Art 2024, sotto il patrocinio di Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ospiterà 102 gallerie provenienti da 31 paesi presso Manarat Al Saadiyat dal 20 al 24 novembre. La sedicesima edizione introduce tre nuovi settori Focus: Something Bold, Something New, curato da Myrna Ayad, che mette in luce artisti moderni della regione; The Collectors Salon, curato da Roxane Zand, con manoscritti, astrolabi e oggetti storici; e Silk Road: Drifting Identities, curato da Elvira Eevr Djaltchinova-Malets, incentrato sull'Asia centrale e il Caucaso. Il settore Emerge si espande a nove gallerie con opere sotto i 3.000 dollari, e Bidaya accoglie due nuovi arrivati. Tra le gallerie di ritorno degne di nota ci sono GALLERIA CONTINUA, Perrotin e Galerie ISA; i nuovi partecipanti includono Richard Saltoun Gallery e 3812 Gallery. Sua Eccellenza Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak del DCT Abu Dhabi ha citato le prossime aperture museali—Guggenheim Abu Dhabi e Zayed National Museum—come motori della crescita del settore artistico commerciale. The Collectors Salon include espositori come KESKINER/KENT ANTIQUES (selleria ottomana), Shapero Rare Books (foglia del Corano hijazita del VII secolo) e Peter Harrington Rare Books (dattiloscritto de Il Piccolo Principe). Something Bold, Something New presenta artisti come Inji Efflatoun, Behjat Sadr e Halim Jurdak. Silk Road presenta Gulnar Mukazhanova, Mishiko Sulakauri e altri. Dyala Nusseibeh, Direttore di Abu Dhabi Art, ha definito il 2024 un anno di primati, inclusa l'edizione più grande di sempre con oltre 100 gallerie.
