Zurbarán Course at Prado Museum Foundation

The Fundación Amigos del Museo del Prado organizes a course on Francisco de Zurbarán (1598–1664), a key figure of the Spanish Golden Age. The course covers his career from his early Sevillian period (1626–1634) to his final years in Madrid (1650–1664), including his courtly phase and the impact of the plague in Seville. The Prado Museum holds nearly forty works by Zurbarán, which will be studied within his broader oeuvre. The course is taught by José Manuel Cruz Valdovinos, Professor of Art History at the Universidad Complutense. Sessions run on September 28, October 5, 19, and 26, 2026, at 12:00 PM, with recorded videos available for one month after each session. It is offered in-person at the foundation's classrooms (c/ de la Academia, 4) and online. Fees: €170 in-person, €85 online. Registration is via the foundation's website.
