Zuhair Murad Resort 2027 Collection Inspired by Lucien Clergue

Zuhair Murad's Resort 2027 collection, titled "Aqua Sculptura," draws inspiration from the late photographer Lucien Clergue, known for his nudes in the Camargue and along the Mediterranean coast. A friend of Picasso and Cocteau, Clergue's work informed Murad's exploration of the female form as sculpture in motion, blurring lines between body and nature, particularly the sea. The collection features literal interpretations like clamshell dresses and sequined fish-scale motifs, as well as subtler pieces such as silver jacquard evoking eddying water, a deep blue gown with pinched pleating, and iridescent pleats shifting from seafoam to blue. Murad ventured into prints with mother-of-pearl and clownfish motifs, and gold lamé in sunset hues. Standouts include a sand-colored shift with curved hem, a black bustier gown, and a white trench, some evoking Grace Kelly. With over 90 pieces, the collection balances lavish handiwork with simple purity of line.
