Zhide's Mirrored Water Drop Installation at Sayram Lake Reflects Landscape

architecture-design · 2026-07-11

Zhide Architectural Design Consulting (Beijing) Co., Ltd. has unveiled 'Heart of Sayram Lake,' a mirrored water drop installation at Sayram Lake in Xinjiang, China. The sculpture, commissioned by DR Diamond Ring, takes the form of a water droplet with two interlocking rings at its center, referencing the brand's 'One Life, One Only, One True Love' concept. Constructed from mirrored metal and hollow red mesh, the installation reflects the surrounding alpine landscape—snow-covered peaks, grasslands, and lake surface—and changes with light, weather, and seasons. Visitors can place stones and heart locks in dedicated compartments, with engraved messages becoming visible as they accumulate. The design team includes Zhengdong Li, Rubing Bai, and Xu Wen.
