Yutang Culture and Sports Center by GL Studio to Open in Shenzhen in 2025
In 2025, the Yutang Culture and Sports Center in Shenzhen's Guangming District, created by GL Studio from Shenzhen University Institute of Architecture Design & Research, will be finalized. Spanning 54,690 square meters, the facility will house a sports hall, library, cultural center, art gallery, performance venue, community health service center, bus terminal, and retail spaces. Situated in Tianliao Community, it aims to benefit local residents and the industrial workforce. The design team comprises Weimin Gong, He Zhang, and others, while engineering work is led by Rong Xie and his team. Landscape design is attributed to Gong, Lai, and Li, with facade consultancy provided by China Academy of Building Research Co., Ltd. The Public Works Bureau of Guangming District is the client.
