Yun Dong Nam Discusses Interdisciplinary Practice and Recent Chapel Hill Exhibition

Yun Dong Nam, a South Korean-born artist and longtime ceramics professor at UNC Chapel Hill, recently presented a solo exhibition titled 'Plane / Mass: Between Surface and Weight' at Oneoneone Gallery in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The show featured both two-dimensional paintings and three-dimensional ceramic works characterized by a minimalist visual language of dots on rounded canvases and vessels. In an accompanying interview, Nam discussed his artistic journey, including his immigration to the United States in 1982, his educational background at Ohio State University, and his three-decade teaching career.
