Young Huh's Mood-Driven Design Philosophy and New Monograph

Young Huh, an interior designer and daughter of Korean immigrants from suburban Detroit, initially earned a law degree from Fordham University before shifting her focus to design after purchasing a home in Scarsdale. She later attended Parsons, completed an internship, and established her New York studio in 2007. Huh’s work encompasses both residential and hospitality projects, gaining significant recognition at the 2019 Kips Bay Decorator Show House. Her debut monograph, A Mood, a Thought, a Feeling (Rizzoli), explores the creation of atmosphere and her 1820s farmhouse. As her firm approaches its 20th anniversary, she expresses confidence in facing challenges, curiosity about AI, and a strong belief in the importance of human instinct.
